XMental Design is a virtual agency that was established in 1996. Prior to 1996, we operated under the name ExtraMental (1989).
XMental.com launched in 1999 – we are the original XMental.

We acknowledge and respect the work related to the study of the Fragile X mental retardation 1 gene (FRM1) identified in 1991. The name XMental was not conceived of with any connection to this respected area of research; which was not widely published till after the name was selected.
